UDG was proud to once again partner with the Miller SoundClash DJ competition in their quest to unearth the next big talent in the high energy music space. In this, which was the second year of the competition, 15 DJ Finalists from 15 different countries were flown into Las Vegas to compete head-to-head for the opportunity to be crowned the Miller SoundClash Winner for 2015.
UDG outfitted each DJ Finalist with exclusive UDG/Miller branded bags and merchandise on the morning of the live final. Each DJ was then given a 17 minute set to impress the crowd and a panel of expert judges including DJ Dannic, AfterCluv Dance Lab - Universal Music Latin America’s dance division, Miller Genuine Draft and DJ Mag during the Miller SoundClash final held at Marquee DayClub. All DJ Finalists were judged on a matrix including their original mix submissions, numbers of plays, likes and comments on Mixcloud and of course the all-important live sets at the grand final.
It was Augusto Yepes from Colombia who was named the Miller SoundClash Winner for 2015 and went on to support superstar DJ Dannic at Drai’s nightclub. Augusto will also go on to release a track with AfterCluv Dance Lab – Universal Music’s Latin American dance division – along with FeelgoodSmalls and DJ Rama who were placed second and third respectively.
The winner of Miller SoundClash 2015 competition is 27 year old Augusto Yepes, whose deep tech sound, inspired by Jaime Jones & Seth Troxler, has seen him perform in Colombia, Barcelona, Costa Brava and now Las Vegas over the last few years.
Toronto-based FeelGoodSmalls is well established in her home country. She is regular performer at some of Toronto’s best parties, where she lays down an infectious blend of nu disco and deep house.
Buenos Aires based DJ Rama runs the Batonga party in the Argentinian capital, and is the night’s resident DJ. He has also performed at Creamfields BA for the last ten years. The house music lover has performed with Diplo and LCD Soundsystem and is also a mainstay on Argentine radio.
